APPLICATION

Surface Preparation

Concrete substrates must be clean, dry and free from all foreign matter such as dirt, oil, grease, coatings and surface curing compounds. They must also be sound and have sufficient compressive strength (at least 25 N/mm²), with a tensile strength of at least 1.5 N/mm².

Concrete substrates must be prepared using abrasive equipment to remove cement laitance and obtain an open-textured surface. Weak concrete must be removed, and blowholes and voids must be completely filled. The cleaned surface must be prepared by a suitable mechanical abrasion method such as grinding, sandblasting or sanding to obtain a rough surface.

Dust generated after mechanical cleaning must be removed using industrial vacuum cleaners. Substrate repairs, filling of voids and surface levelling must be carried out with a mortar obtained by mixing 0.1–0.3 mm silica sand with EPOFLOOR PRIMEL 100 primer.

The surface must be primed before applying EPOFLOOR COAT TEXT 200. EPOFLOOR PRIMEL 100 must be used for priming. Ensure that the entire substrate is covered with primer.

Application Conditions

The moisture content of the concrete must be below 4%.

Relative air humidity must not exceed 80%.

Care must be taken against dew and condensation.

Dew and water-vapour condensation on untreated or newly coated floors may damage the coating and cause blistering. To prevent this, the temperature of the surface and uncured floor must be at least 3°C above the dew point.

Surface Temperature: Minimum +8°C, maximum +30°C

Ambient Temperature: Minimum +10°C, maximum +30°C

Material Temperature: Minimum +10°C, maximum +25°C

Preparation and Application

Before mixing, Component A must be mechanically stirred on its own. After Component B is poured into Component A, mix with a 300–400 rpm mixer until a homogeneous mixture is obtained (approximately 3 minutes). To ensure complete mixing, transfer the materials to another container and mix again for 1 minute. Avoid overmixing to minimise air entrainment.

As a Coating: EPOFLOOR COAT TEXT 200 can be applied with a fine-notched trowel and textured using a coral/crystal roller. An orange-peel texture is created in the final floor-coating layer.

For all applications in warm ambient or weather conditions, the A+B mixture must be divided into smaller quantities to prevent the risk of premature setting.

CONSUMPTION

The EPOFLOOR COAT TEXT 200 A+B mixture is used as the main coating material in coating systems, and its consumption varies according to its use within the system.
